In my free art thread, as I am sure any one who pays attention knows I have, I declined a request because "I couldn't think of anything." The requester very politely asked me to explain those words and the below explanation was my answer. Which I have always known and understood myself personally as the artist I am but never put into words and quantified for others. When I look at something there are three things that could happen. So, my original idea for this year was a Gunslinger. But Jonah Hex ruined that idea because every kid who went to see that movie will be one so I resorted to voting and it was decided I would be a Southern Belle. The loosing idea was gypsy. Now I have found a really great site that sells beautiful gowns for insanity, but it's only a back up plan. That's right I am making the dumb ball gown from sort of scratch. I will happily admit and tell everyone that my gown is made from drapes. No I am not ashamed of it, originally part of it was going to be made from a shower curtain so brocade drapes are an upgrade.
